One hundred matches with an eagle on his chest! The milestone was reached by Otamendi on Saturday, October 29, in the rout (5-0) against Chaves, on matchday 11 of the Liga Bwin.

After arriving at Estádio da Luz in 2020/21, the Argentine international center-back played 65 games in the Portuguese League, where he scored one goal, precisely in his debut season, against Famalicão (2-0), on February 8, 2021, at Estádio da Luz.

Otamendi scored again this season, in what was his second goal for Benfica, in the 2nd leg of the Champions League play-off, against Dynamo Kyiv (3-0), on August 23, at the Cathedral.

In the European competitions, Otamendi made 28 appearances, 22 in the Champions League and six in the Europa League.

Domestically, the eagles' number 30 also carried out five matches in the Portuguese Cup, one in the League Cup, and one in the Super Cup.
