Odysseas renews until 2027

Proud and happy, Odysseas confessed to be impressed with everything he has experienced at Sport Lisboa e Benfica at the moment of extending the link to the club that he "loves", translating this into the signing of a new contract valid until 2027.

"Firstly, I am very happy and proud to renew my contract with this amazing club. I feel excellent, because my family and I enjoy being here [in Lisbon and at Benfica], so I am happy to renew and continue at Benfica", claimed Odysseas, in exclusive statements to BTV.

The Eagles' number 99 spoke about what has impressed him at the club since his arrival in 2018: "Everything! What I can say is that my family and I feel very good in Portugal, we love the country, we love Benfica, and we are very happy to be here"

"So far we are doing a good job in the Championship and the Champions League, we can be proud of the team, but the season is not over yet, and we have to keep moving forward. On Sunday we have an important game against Marítimo, where we are going to give our best to get the three points", he praised, after Benfica secured their presence in the quarterfinals of the Champions League after beating Club by 5-1, in the second leg of the competition's round of 16.

Odysseas joined Benfica in August 2018. At Estádio da Luz, he has already surpassed the milestone of 200 matches with an eagle on his chest, specifically in the derby against Sporting, on January 15, 2023, having, at the date of contract renewal, 210 official games for the Club.

This season (2022/23), the Greek international nurtured at Stuttgart has 41 matches, 23 in the National Championship, 12 in the Champions League, 3 in the Portuguese Cup and 3 in the League Cup.

Since his arrival in Benfica, Odysseas has won a National Championship and a Cândido Oliveira Super Cup. He has been a senior international for Greece since November 15, 2018, against Finland.
