Luisão opens the doors of the Museum

On Tuesday, August 5, Benfica finalized preparations for the first leg of the third qualifying round of the Champions League against Nice. In the morning, the team held a training session at Benfica Campus, which also hosted the preview press conferences with Bruno Lage and Schjelderup.  After that, they headed to Beja, where they got a warm welcome from hundreds of Benfica fans before hopping on a charter flight. Benfica is already in France (they landed tonight) in Nice, where the game is set for 8:00 pm (Mainland Portugal time) on Wednesday, August 6.

Enthusiasm, passion, and unity marked the meeting between Benfica team and fans at Beja International Airport, from where the red delegation continued their journey to Nice. The ideal boost for the first leg of the third qualifying round of the Champions League.

An icon of Benfica and Portuguese judo, Telma Monteiro donated the kimono she wore in her last competition for the club, specifically the National Club Championship in October 2024, which earned her the women's title, to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião. The judoka also donated the belt she wore during her last Olympic cycle. “It's the place where it makes the most sense to stay, leaving a little of my legacy, preserving my history with Benfica,” said Telma Monteiro.

On Friday, May 16, the European Night of Museums took place at the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião, which was free to enter between 6 pm and midnight and welcomed 1,166 visitors. A special evening that surprised everyone with a Live Cartoon session by cartoonist Ricardo Galvão and the screening of the documentary “Benfica-Torino 4-3”. Here are the best images...
