Gedson: “The victories have been happening for a reason"

Gedson, another pearl made in Caixa Futebol Campus, revealed maturity on and off the pitch making the review of the season in which he made his debut for Benfica's first team.

“We will certainly work harder, we have a long championship ahead of us. Everything happens for a purpose and if the victories have happened, it was for some reason. We are happy to have won the games, got back to winning ways and we'll certainly win back our fans.”

RUI VITÓRIA AT THE HELM

“It was a very positive moment for us because we did not want our coach to leave because Rui Vitória is the ideal coach for the Club, he was the coach who won the fourth league title in a row. He is a great coach and if he remains at the club it is for a reason. If the president believes in the coach, we also believe, as we have always believed.”

“All our goals were set at the start of the season, we know what they are and we have to work with our minds on it. We want to win as many competitions as possible.”

“Benfica is a great club, it has already shown it in many moments, surely we can overcome any team, we have the quality and the squad to do it.”

“It was a different day, a day of pride, almost the same pride I felt when I made my first-team debut for Benfica because it was at Benfica that I started playing football from an early age.”
