Samuel Soares called up to the Under-21s

Samuel Soares, goalkeeper of the SL Benfica's first team, is included in the squad list of the national coach Rui Jorge for the matches of the Under-21 National Team against Romania and Norway, in preparation for the European Championship 2023.

Besides Samuel Soares, there are four more players with ties to Sport Lisboa e Benfica in the squad, currently on loan: Tomás Araújo (Gil Vicente), Paulo Bernardo (Paços de Ferreira), Tiago Dantas (PAOK) and Henrique Araújo (Watford). 

The Portuguese team will face Romania, in Bucharest, on March 24, followed by the match against Norway, on March 28, in Póvoa de Varzim.
