Final preparations for European clash

On Monday, June 23—the day before the clash with Bayern Munich in the third and final match of Group C of the Club World Cup—Benfica trained at the Waters Sportsplex in Tampa, with their first European match in the competition on the horizon. On Tuesday, the Eagles face the Bavarians at 8 pm in mainland Portugal (3 pm local time) in Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium.

17th António Leitão Benfica Race was “another great success”

“We saw a lot of celebration, joy, Benfiquismo and glory, inside and outside this stadium,” Ana Oliveira, Benfica's athletics coordinator, told Benfica, about the 17th António Leitão Benfica Race, which she considered ‘another great success’ and which took place on Sunday, March 23.  With Benfica's André Pereira and Paula Martins winning their respective races, and with an impressive 12,500 participants, the race was also marked by a fundraiser for the Pais21 association. Telma Monteiro's donation to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião

An icon of Benfica and Portuguese judo, Telma Monteiro donated the kimono she wore in her last competition for the club, specifically the National Club Championship in October 2024, which earned her the women's title, to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião. The judoka also donated the belt she wore during her last Olympic cycle. “It's the place where it makes the most sense to stay, leaving a little of my legacy, preserving my history with Benfica,” said Telma Monteiro.

Thank you, Telma Monteiro!

On Monday, December 9, judoka Telma Monteiro announced the end of her sporting career.  It's been “24 very special years”, 17 of which have been spent with an eagle on her chest and, at the time of his farewell, there is “eternal gratitude”. “I'm ending my career exactly as I wanted to, with the feeling that I've given everything I had to give, and that everything was as it should be,” she said. Solidarity Christmas at Estádio da Luz
